Joan Lavon Akers, age 42, of Jenkins, Kentucky passed from this life  on  December 31, 2016 at her residence. She was born on August 24, 1974 in Pikeville, Kentucky.  She was a loving mother and enjoyed making crafts.  She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed forever in the hearts of her family.

  She was preceded in death by her husband, Shawn Caudill and her grandparents, Kernie Stewart and Ruth Vanhoose Stewart.

    Mrs. Akers is survived by her mother, Ruby Baker of Jenkins, Kentucky; one son, Kernie Dale Akers of Jenkins, Kentucky; one daughter, Autumn Lee Akers of Jenkins, Kentucky; two brothers, Kyle Eugene Baker of West Liberty, Kentucky and David Ray Baker of Jenkins, Kentucky; one sister, Samantha Lynn Baker of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; along with a host of other family and many friends to mourn her passing.

   A memorial service is planned in the future, for Mrs. Aker, by her family.  Details will be announced at a later date.
