Shirlene Mullins (Wood) - Class Of 1959

Shirlene Wood, age 82, of Braceville, Ohio, died Sunday, April 30, 2023 at St. Joseph Eastland Hospital in Warren, Ohio.

Born in Jenkins, she was a daughter of the late Cody Mullins and Lula Youngblood Mullins.

Mrs. Wood was graduated from Jenkins High School in the Class of 1959. She then went on to Kent State University and earned her associate degree in business management.

She married the love of her life, William Ray Wood, on March 10, 1963, and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage until he died on June 12, 2019. They lived in Braceville for more than 34 years, formerly of Rootstown, Ohio.

Mrs. Wood was a faithful and longtime member of the First Assembly of the Pentecost Church in Braceville, where she was a Sunday School teacher and youth leader, and sang in the choir. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, and being active at her church.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and her husband were a sister, Shelia Marie Adams, and three brothers, Dairl Dean, Johnny Ray, and Roger Lee Mullins.

Surviving are two daughters, Tammy McCabe and Denita

Fuller, both of Braceville; a sister, Josephine Crace of Jenkins; two brothers, Bobby Mullins and wife Linda of Jenkins, and Wendell Mullins and wife Sherry, all of Jenkins; three grandchildren, Charles, Benjamin, and Jesse; and two great-granddaughters, Azelya and Aaliyah.

Funeral services were held at the First Assembly of the Pentecost in Braceville on May 6. Burial was at Braceville Cemetery.
