Arner Brook Whitaker - Class Of 1978

Arner Brook Whitaker of Haymond, KY was born in Jenkins, Kentucky, November 20, 1960 and went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2021 at 2:51 p.m. at Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, Kentucky.  He was the son of the Late Sherman Arner Whitaker of Jenkins, Kentucky.
He is survived by his mother Nora Whitaker of Jenkins; his wife, Pamela Whitaker of Haymond; one daughter, Charity (Allen) Bormes of Jenkins; two sons: Joshua (Diane Whitaker of Jenkins and son Seth Whitaker of Haymond; three grandaughters: Layla, Hannah and Eliza "Bob" Bormes of Jenkins; two sisters: Eyvonna (Neal) Greene of Pound, Virginia and Beth Brown of Mr. Carmel, Tennessee and a host of other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, son and brother.  He loved to spend time with the Lord, enjoying what beauty God created through fishing, hunting and gardening.  He was constantly working on old cars and shared memories of his days racing.  He liked to spend time vacationing with family in Florida.  He brought laughter to everyone he met.  He spent his life devoted to the Lord, ministering to anyone who crossed his path.  His wish was to be reunited with family and friends in heaven.
Most of all, he loved his family and instilled in his children strong values that have served them well.  He will be dearly missed and forever in out hearts.  
Funeral services were held Thursday June 17 at Polly and Craft Chapel of the Carty Funeral Home in Jenkins with a special sermon delivered by the late Arner Whitaker.
Joshua Whitaker, Seth Whitaker, Allen Bormes, Jeff Newsom, Jerry "Booger" Campbell, Layla Bormes and Hannah Bormes served as pallbearers.
