Lynn Vanover, 79, of Dorton, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, at Knoxville, Tennessee.  

She was born May 23, 1940, to the late Thurston and Margie Sturgill Robbins.  

She was a member of the Dorton Methodist Church since 1971 and was a retired Lunchroom Supervisor at Dorton School.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Dana Vanover; one brother, Dwight Robbins; one sister, Phyllis West; and one grandchild, Dustin Nathaniel Wright.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Vanover; two sons, Joe Vanover, of Morristown, Tenn., and Raubie Vanover, of Marrowbone; one daughter, Teeni Lowe, of Dorton; two brothers, Larry Leon Robbins, of Ohio, and Randy Robbins, of Jenkins; three sisters, Gladys Carter and Shelva Stidham, both of Manassas, Va., and Ginger Williams, of Orlando, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at the Hall & Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Leonard Lowery, Johnny Vanover and Garfield Potter officiating. Burial will follow at the Bumgardner Cemetery, Dorton.  

Visitation will continue on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the funeral home with services beginning at 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.
