Obituary for Tandy Bates Jr

Tandy Bates Jr age 80 of Pound, VA, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on February 6, 1938 to the late Tandy Bates Sr and Lonnie Belle Bates and raised by the late Jesse and Della Bates. He was a retired US Navy Veteran.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by one brother; Elmer Bowens and two sisters; Gladys Lucas and Gearl Dene Bates.
He is survived by his wife; Anna (Baker) Bates, two daughters; Connie Wyatt of Jenkins, Cathy Rose of Jenkins, two brothers; Eugene Bates of Louisville, Bobby Bates of Whitesburg, one sister; Euldine Duncil of Louisville, six grandchildren; Andrea Conley, Joshua Stanley, Tony Wyatt Jr, Leslie Arnett, Allison Wyatt and Sara Stanley. Along with eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00PM at the Hall & Jones Funeral Home with Jason Adair officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Whitesburg. Visitation will begin on Wednesday at 6:00PM at the Funeral Home.
