Robert "Bob" Dean Mullins - Class Of 1981

Robert “Bob” Dean Mullins, age 52, of McRoberts, Kentucky, passed away on July 28, 2015 at his home.  He was born on July 11, 1963 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, he was raised in McRoberts, Kentucky, lived in Alabama and returned to McRoberts after retiring.  Robert had worked as a coal miner and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.  He greatly enjoyed spending time in Alabama and Florida, where he would find great solace in being out in the water on a boat and fishing.  Robert was well known for his kindness and his love of his community.  He took great pleasure in getting to spend time with his family and friends.  Robert was a member of the fraternal organization, the Loyal Order of the Moose, with him having belonged to Moose Lodge #804, Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and he was of the Christian Faith.

   He was a son of the late Estill Mullins and Ida Brown Mullins.  Robert was also preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Sexton; and a brother, Sonny Jim Mullins.

   He is survived by his wife, Melanie Mullins, of McRoberts, Kentucky; a son, Robert Bruce Mullins (Laura), of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two daughters, Mikala Wyatt and Amanda Wyatt, both of McRoberts, Kentucky; two grandsons, James Saylor and Noah Saylor; Bob was looking forward to the future birth of his grandson, Samuel Dean Mullins; two sisters, Betty Mullins Kincer, of Danville, Illinois, and Delma Blair, of Jenkins, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

   Visitation will be held on Thursday July 30, 2015 from 6:00-9:00 PM at Carty Funeral Home Neon Chapel, Neon, Kentucky.  Funeral services will be held on Friday July 31 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with Jeff Slone officiating.  Interment will follow at McRoberts Cemetery, McRoberts, Kentucky.
