Matthew Edward Thacker, age 29, of Jenkins, Kentucky passed from this life on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center of Pikeville, Kentucky.  He was born on June 12, 1988 at Mary Washington Hospital. He spent his youth bouncing states and settling in Jenkins, where he built his life and his family.  He made his living in customer service, bringing joy and laughter to all he met. He was a joker at heart and never failed to lighten your spirit. He was an all around athlete and loved sports; whether he was playing them or watching and rooting on his children, as they played them. He was well known and truly loved. His greatest accomplishment was his kids. They were his light and his everything. He was a proud papa.

   He was the son of Eddie and Sheila Thacker; the father of Ryan Scott Church, Haylee Dawn Thacker and Landon Matthew Lee Thacker; the brother of Jesse Thacker (Elizabeth Smith), Louie Thacker, Carla (Nathaniel) Polly and Crystal Mullins; the uncle of Donovan Brown.  He was also family and a dear friend to all who knew him.

   Visitation For Mr. Thacker will be held on  Friday, January 26, 2018 and Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church; with family viewing at 5:30 PM.  The family will then receive guests and friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

   Funeral services for Mr. Thacker will be conducted from the church on Sunday, January 28 at 2:00 PM with Minister, Alfred Fields officiating.

 Burial will follow in the Thacker & Fields Cemetery at Millard, Kentucky.
