Joe Eddie Eversole - Class Of 1958

Joseph Edwin Eversole “Joe Eddie”, age 76, of Jenkins, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his residence.  He was born on November 25, 1940 at Jenkins, Kentucky to the late Joe C. Eversole and Mary Elizabeth Christopher Eversole.  Joe Eddie was a longtime proprietor of the Jenkins Cavalier Drug Store for over sixty years. He was a member of the Jenkins United Methodist Church and enjoyed socializing with the members of the community; as well as, sharing his knowledge of the history of Jenkins. Joe Eddie was also a member of the Jenkins Masonic Lodge #856 for over fifty years and a member of the Jenkins Yort Rite. He loved and celebrated horses; showing American saddlebred horses. He was also the owner of a world champion three- gated horse.

   Mr. Eversole is survived by his loving wife: Joe Ann Eversole of Jenkins, Kentucky; one son: Joe Scott Eversole of Lexington, Kentucky; two granddaughters: Chloe and Sophia Eversole; two special brothers-in-law: Bill (Judi) Bates of Lexington, Kentucky and Don (Debbie) Bates of Sun Rise Beach, Missouri; also by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Jenkins Volunteer Fire Department.

 

   Visitation for Mr. Eversole will be held at the Polly & Craft Funeral Chapel of Jenkins, Kentucky on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 5:00 PM for family viewing and at 6:00 PM  to 9:00 PM for public visitation.

 

    Funeral services for Joe Eddie will also be conducted from the Jenkins chapel on  Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Greg Polly officiating.

 

    Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens at Big Stone Gap, Virginia
