John Henry Smith - Class Of 1949

 

John Henry Smith, age 85 of Jenkins, Kentucky passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at his home.
He was a Pike County Sheriff Court Security Officer and a veteran of the United Army. He was a member of the St. George Roman Catholic Church. From birth to death he was a humble Catholic servant of God, a loving and caring son, a loyal brother and faithful husband. He was a proud father and grandfather and was a charitable citizen of Jenkins and Pikeville.
John Henry was born at Pond Creek in Stone, Kentucky on June 12, 1932 the son of the late Thomas J. and Jane McClusky Smith.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Ann Todd.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Pritchard Smith, two sons, Lee Anthony Smith and his wife, Karen of Pikeville and Thomas J. Smith and his wife, Michelle of Florence, South Carolina and a daughter, Frances Smith Coleman and her husband, Eddy of Pikeville.
One brother, Thomas Joseph Smith of Orlando, Florida also survives.
He was also survived by his five grandchildren, Candice Smith, Stephanie Smith Justice, Fallon Smith, Tabatha Leipprandt and Caroline Michelle Smith and two great-grandchildren, Jett Justice and Storey Justice.

Visitation Tuesday, November 21 5 pm to 8 pm St George Catholic Church, Jenkins, KY. Funeral Wednesday, November 22 1 pm St Frances Catholic Church, Pikeville, KY.
Serving as pallbearers will be Retired and Current Pike County Sheriff Court Security Officers.
