Glenna Sue Holmes Campbell (Nolan)

Glenna Sue Campbell Nolan, age 63, of Jenkins, Kentucky, passed away on July 10, 2015 at her home. She was born on November 4, 1951 in Fleming, Kentucky and was a lifelong resident of Letcher County, Kentucky.

Glenna had a strong passion for education, with a bachelor's degree in education from Clinch Valley College, a master's degree in education from Morehead State University, a second master's degree in
education from the University of Kentucky and she had been working on her doctorate at the time of her death.

She taught kindergarten for over twenty-eight years at Jenkins Independent School District; and was the flagship person to teach kindergarten once Jenkins Independent implemented the kindergarten program.

Glenna dearly loved her dogs and greatly enjoyed taking her dog, Moose, for car rides. She took
great pleasure in getting to spend time with her family and friends. Glenna was a member of the Kentucky Education Association, the National Education Association and had been of the Baptist Faith, since November 23, 1978.


She was a daughter of the late Odis Holmes and Nora Riddle Holmes. Glenna was also preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Campbell.


She is survived by her husband, Vincent Nolan, of Jenkins, Kentucky; a son, Calvin Campbell (fiancé, DeAnna Adams), of Jenkins, Kentucky; a sister, Euginia Joseph, of Jenkins, Kentucky; a special niece, Amanda Anderson (Lenny); a special great-niece, Lynsey Anderson; a step-daughter, Susanna
Walker (Al), of Millstone, New Jersey; and a host of other family and friends.
