Franklin McKinley Fleming - Class Of 1964

Franklin McKinley Fleming, 69, died October 1, 2014.

Born in Burdine to the late Ralph Fred Fleming and the late Naomi Fleming Townsend, he was a brother of the late Ken Fleming.

He was a former veterans representative for the State of Kentucky and a member of Church of God of Prophecy.

He was a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, three NCO Professional Development Ribbons, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, four Overseas Service Bars, Vietnam

Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Distinguished Instructor Badge, and Rifle M-16 Expert Dual Badge.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia L. Fleming; two daughters, Jennifer Fleming Lunsford and husband Donnie of Cynthiana, and Stephanie Hope Craig and husband Nathan of Midway; two sisters, Lillian Janisch, of Cynthiana, and Kay King, of Versailles; two brothers, Wayne Fleming, of Jenkins, and Danny Fleming, of Washington; and grandchildren, Dillon Lunsford, Lukas Lunsford, Weston Craig, and Carly Craig.

Funeral services were held Oct. 6 in Versailles. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
