Phyllis was pastor of Orange Street Church of God of Prophecy located in Wyandotte, MI. She previously served as pastor of McGuire Street Church of God of Prophecy in Taylor, MI. Before pastoring, Phyllis and her family (one daughter, two sons and husband and son-in-law) formed a gospel group called the Dedications.

She passed away due to complications from Cancer in Melvindale, MI. at the age of 60.
