Johnny R. Kelley - Class Of 1952

 Obituary

Johnny R. Kelley, age 76, of Jenkins, Kentucky, passed away September 17 2010, at the Pikeville Medical Center.  He was born March 31, 1934 at Burdine, Kentucky.  He was a retired coal miner, a member of the United Mine Workers of America, A United States Army Veteran, and a Kentucky Colonel.  He professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and testified as being sacred before his death.

Johnny was the eldest son of the late Clyde and Goldie Keel Kelly.  A sister, Connie Shehee, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Senter Kelly, Jenkins, Kentucky; two sisters, Patricia Browing, Madisonville, Tennessee, and Reva Murphy, Berkley, California; tow brothers, Orbie Kelly, Rossville, Georgia, and David Kelly, of Akron, Ohio; He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Kathy Ison, Rita Mullins, and Sierra Fleming, were special nieces to Johnny. He loved them like daughters, and this love was returned with loving care and kindness.

Johnny was a relative to my grandfather Okey Kelly , I remember when I was little and going to the Kelly reunion at the Breaks Park we had such a good time and great memories.Almost all of the Kellys are gone now well the ones that were true kellys , Like my Grandfather Okey, and his brother Dallas Kelly , and Tom Kelly and one of the most memoriable Kelly's Cal, Johnny and all of the great Kelly men are missed but we have all the fond memories and good times of the past they will al stay fresh in my mind.
