Tommy L. Brush

BRUSH Thomas L, 69, died Mon, Oct 4, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital.

Born in Jenkins, KY, he was the son of the late Ivan and Hazel Richardson Brush, son-in-law of Mildred and the late Oakie Greer. He was married to the love of his life Anna Greer Brush for 49 years.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Debra (Jude) Ritchie; and grandsons, Will and Luke. Tom excelled in athletics at Jenkins High School and went on to play football at the University of Kentucky under Blanton Collier, 1959-1962.

He was a very successful football coach at Madison Model and Jenkins High before becoming a sales representative for Josten's Printing and Publishing until he retired in 2005. Mr. Brush was a member of the K-Men's Association, Keene Run Golf Club, and a member of the Masonic Lodge #856 of Jenkins, KY. He was named into the Letcher County Sports Hall of Fame in 1986.

His greatest joy was his daughters and grandsons who call him Pappie.

Funeral services will be 12:30pm Fri at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Rev. Wally Rendel. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5-9pm Thu at the funeral home.
