Cause of Death: Severe head trauma from an accident while at work. He worked for Bell South and lived in Ooltewah,TN.And was married to Paula Kirkland. They have 2 children, Chis and Megan.
When rumor reached me a number of years ago that Doug had passed on I was in disbelief and certainly hoping it wasn't so. I grew up with Doug as a neighbor; and for a brief period he and I flirted as adolescents do. Memories go back to childhood playing baseball in the dirt road or the big bottom; walking to the bus stop together and playing under the street lights of Smokey Row. Ten years after his death I am still saddened by Dougs passing and wish to let his family know that there are others that remember Doug with fondness.
