Bucky Eugene Burke - Class Of 1988

Former Letcher County Sheriff's Deputy Bucky Eugene Burke died September 18, 2007 in Brunswick, Ga. He was 36 years old. Born in Michigan, he was a son of Jerry and Dora Farley of Abingdon, Va., and was a 1988 graduate of Jenkins High School. He attended East Tennessee State University of Johnson City, Tenn. Burke was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the 82nd Airborne during both Operate Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He became a Letcher County deputy sheriff in 1993 and also was police chief in Loyall and a police officer with the Veterans Administration Police in Danville, Ill. He was transferred to the Veterans Administration Police in Mountain Home, Tenn., and in 2003 joined the U.S. Marshals Service stationed in the District of Columbia with the District Court. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Renattia Burke, Bristol, Tenn.; a son, Logan Burke; two stepsons, Caleb Gilliam and Justin Gilliam; a brother, Jerry Ray Farley; and a half-sister, Rhonda Abel. Funeral services were held September 23 in Highlands Fellowship Church in Abingdon, Va. Burial was in Forest Hills Memory Garden. Bucky was a great son, dad and friend. He is missed by so many. I am glad I was lucky enough to have had him as my friend for 21 years. RIP Bucky..until we meet again!

bucky was a great guy and so much fun 2 b around in school i was deeply saddend by his untimely passing i hope his family is doing well and send them my most heart felt best wishes!!!!!!!!!!!! he will b missed by us all!!!!!!!! best wishes bucky angelia (baker) holbrook class of 88!!!!!!!!
