I liked this site much better when you could actually click on the year you graduated to find classmates instead of having the whole lot lumped together.

Mickey Looney (Bell) (1957)

Hey Duward,
Thanks for your continued good work.
I, like others would love to see the names broken down in years of graduation. It was soooo simple when I could click on 1957. I know it might be a big job but PLEASE...
Thanks, Mickey Bell (Looney) class of 1957

I would like to let the Class of 1954 know that one of your classmate Eleanor Ruth (Hensley)  Crase had passed away on October 21, 2009 at the age of 72.  I tried to post that on the "IN MEMORY" section but it won't let me.  If you would like to contact me  (her son, David)  you may at:  tape_ministry@bellsouth.net  love to hear from any of her fromer classmates and friends.

I tried to post an "in memory" item for Mark Sturgill (class of '81) who was killed on Oct. 6, 2010, but I could not find his name on the student list. Mark died in a shooting incident. He was an engineer for KET and maintained their Hazard transmission tower. He was married and survived by 2 sons and his brother David. Mark was 48 at the time of his death. What a tragic loss.

It seems to me that this site is being used less and less every day and I have noticed for a long time now that none of our teachers have subscribed to this webb site-----this is sad------where is the school spirit!!!!!!!1

Duward, This is a great site.  Thanks for all the efforts.

I have located Beatrice Pendleton Crane ( Validictorian of '58)  in Fuquay Varina, North Caolina.  She isn't listed in the missing people but I sent her the information. Her email address is

BCrane@GEMission.com

Betty Jo Welch ('58) lives in Bowling Green, Ky.

Does anyone know where Eva Molinar is?  She and family  came from Hungary and lived with Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Crase. I think she was only in Jenkins for about a year and she did graduate even with her sketchy records.

Keep up the good work.

Charlotte

I just logged in (jimmy Hall).  My class was 1951 and my profile came up as class of 1985.  Can you fix this?

Thanks to Jimmie Ann for passing this along to me.

Hey Duward,

I just posted a picture of the Jenkins Baseball Club from 1935 in my profile.  Feel free to add it to the "Early Pics" section.  Sorry, I do not have the names to go with the photo; here's hoping they get filled in as a Dad, Grandad or Uncle is recognized.

Hermon Belcher (1965)

Bro. Duward,

Thanks for putting the '65 reunion notice on the front page.  We're loking forward to having a room full. I think 1965 is the largest class to graduate from JHS. We had over 122 (exact number not available according to school board office personal). So that brings up a question. How would a person of my class find their school record if ever needed?

Thanks for all your help for us and this site.    Hermon Belcher

I'm not sure how far back school records have been kept.  After so many years, I think the records are purged.  I recall being at the school 15 years ago or more and they were purging the old files. At that time I was told that the only thing they were required to keep were test scores; you can imagine that it would require many filing cabinets to have kept records for the last 100 years. We used to have something called permanent record folders and IGAP cards but those are things of the past since records are now kept electronically.

I know that we have school board minutes for the past 100 years.

As for the number of students In your class, if you have a photo of your graduating class, that's probably your best resource.  I think you could go back to your freshman yearbook to see how many started with your class.   There were only 44 who graduated in 1963 but we probably started with 60 if not more!

I think it's exciting that you're having so many ppl returning for the reunion.

I'm looking for someone that has an extra 1976 JHS yearbook that they can sell me or whatever.  My parents couldnt afford to get me one for me during my senior year.  My dad retired from SouthEast that year and money was tight.  He was filing for Black Lung and we couldnt get one.  Thanks.
